Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia offers PhD positions in Economics to international students of outstanding academic merit. Applicants must:

Hold a Masters degree with thesis component or an honours degree in Economics or related fields (students with a science or engineering background, who are interested in applying their analytical skills to the study of problems relevant to economics, are also welcome to apply);

Not be citizens or permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand;

Satisfy all academic requirements for entry to the PhD program including English proficiency levels.

Positions are for three years, and include tuition fee for PhD study, health insurance, and some stipend. Positions involve research and teaching assistantship as well. The available financial support should help cover modest living expenses in Melbourne during the study period.
