  We offer a funded PhD position in Computer Science at the Department of Applied 
  Mathematics and Computer Science, Ghent University, Belgium. The candidate will carry out 
  his/her research in the context of a project on personalizing advertisements based on 
  user generated content, in close cooperation with the Department of Computer Science, KU 
  Leuven, Belgium. In addition to the PhD grant (4 years), funding is available for 
  participation in international conferences, schools and workshops.
  Applicants should have a master’s degree and a strong background in computer science. Of 
  particular interest are candidates with experience in the areas of machine learning, 
  information retrieval, natural language processing, artificial intelligence and/or 
  uncertainty reasoning. Extensive prior knowledge on the topic of the project is not 
  required, but excellent (honors-level) results in prior studies are a must. The candidate 
  is fluent in spoken and written English.
